Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT)

Many people with ALS experience changes in speech, voice, or hand function that impact communication and technology access. Our Communication Team provides ongoing support, education, and often specialized equipment not covered by insurance to meet needs at every stage of the ALS journey. We work to empower individuals with ALS to maintain meaningful engagement, participation, and independence.

We work directly with our CCALS families, but we also work with Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) and Occupational Therapists (OT) in the community to support them as they support you.

Here are some examples of AAC/AT tools available, however, we invite you to reach out to our Communication Team for more information. Contact our office at 508-444-6775 or email info@ccals.org to connect.
