HOLIDAY, Fla. – Sherrill Smith DiCaprio was born on November 14, 1970, in Albany, N.Y. She passed away on February 11, 2024, after a long courageous battle with ALS, Sherrill was only 53 years of age.
Sherrill is survived by her loving spouse, Domenico DiCaprio; her mother, Mary Janet Smith; her brother, Kevin Smith; and extended family members. Sherrill was predeceased by her father, Harold E Smith II; and sister, Eileen Collins.
Sherrill began her career in 2000 with NYS Workers Compensation Board, where she continued as a dedicated employee for 23 years. Sherrill loved to be in the warm weather at the beach and her home and pool in Florida. She was a loving caring soul who touched everyone she ever met. She had a fervor for life. Our Father in heaven called his very special angel to enter his kingdom. GO IN PEACE MY LOVE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Compassionate Care ALS (ccals.org). A celebration will be on Saturday March 2, at Tooley’s, 2721 Broadway Schenectady 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
