Her dedication to keep in shape was always one of her hobbies, along with reading and playing her favorite game Rummikub. Eva was also an active supporter of the Gardner Food Bank held at Stop and Shop for many years.

She was preceded by her husband of 55 years, Ernest J. Melanson, who died in 1991; her daughter Norma A. Frigon who died in 2001; her son Donald D. Melanson who died in 2014; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; and eleven brothers and sisters.

Eva leaves three daughters; Anita M. Caisse and her husband Francis of Ashburnham, Doris M. Vienneau of Gardner, Donna D. Dion and her husband Wayne of Estero, FL; and special daughter-in-law, Claudette Melanson of Leominster. Eva also leaves ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
