The work of CCALS is possible thanks to our ALS One Partners, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS), ALS TDI, and numerous others. CCALS has worked with Dr. Cudkowicz at MGH and Dr. Brown at UMMS since 1997 and has known ALS TDI since the organization began. Over the years since, CCALS has joined hands with many other trail-breaking organizations within the ALS community to improve the availability and quality of assistance to ALS families in living with and navigating the complexities of ALS.

ALS Residence
The Leonard Florence Center for Living (LFCL) is unlike any other skilled nursing facility. With thirty rooms devoted to individuals diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and MS (multiple sclerosis), this award-winning specialized residence changes the way people are living with these diseases. As the first urban Green House® skilled nursing facility in the country, the Center sets the stage for a model of care far removed from traditional nursing homes. Today, the Leonard Florence Center takes care of more individuals living with ALS under one roof than any place else in the world.

Ventilator Residence
The Leonard Florence Center for Living operates the only Green House ventilator program in the country. Offering state-of-the art portable ventilators in a Green House model of care, our short-term and long-term specialized care residents have access to a totally new way of living. As part of the Life on a Vent program, we have invested in technologically advanced ventilators. The unified respiratory system makes it easy to switch and customize therapies, creating one easy-to-manage system. Most importantly, these ventilators offer greater mobility, enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
