William T. “Bill” Devine, Sr., 62, of Haverhill, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with ALS.

Bill was born in Wallingford, CT on April 22, 1964, to the late William E. “Bill” and Beverly A. (Kozak) Devine. He was raised and educated in Wallingford, CT, and graduated from Lyman Hall High School.

Bill met the love of his life, Kathy, and they built a life together, sharing 35 years of devoted marriage. They went on to welcome their two children, Ashley and Bill Jr.

In his early years, Bill worked alongside his father at Porto’s Autobody in Wallingford, CT. He later built a career as a CDL-licensed truck driver and drove an 18-wheeler for Portland Stoneware for several years. After leaving Portland Stoneware, he graduated from Heavy Equipment Academy (HCA) in Brentwood, NH, where he returned and became a lead instructor for many years. Bill enjoyed training students and sharing his knowledge with upcoming heavy equipment operators. He later went on to pursue a career with WJS Contracting, continuing to operate heavy machinery.

Bill found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He also had a love for NASCAR, enjoyed watching Seinfeld, and building model cars and trucks. He took a lot of pride in his meticulous looking lawn and his red Chevrolet truck, which brought him great happiness.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen “Kathy” (Aniolowski) Devine; their daughter, Ashley Devine of Amesbury, MA; their son, William “Bill” Devine, Jr. and his wife Kellie (Caffrey) of Methuen, MA; and sisters, Sherri and Kelli. He is also survived by uncles Russell (Marie) Kozak and Tom (Connie) Kozak; father-in-law Richard Aniolowski; sister-in-law Ann Scafidi; and brothers-in-law Richard (Karen) Aniolowski and John (Kathy) Aniolowski. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Bill was predeceased by his parents William E. “Bill” Devine and Beverly A. (Kozak) Devine; grandparents William E. Devine Sr. and Virginia Devine; and mother-in-law Eileen Aniolowski.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Compassionate Care ALS (CCALS) or ALS.org (http://als.org/).
