1950 – 2026

Lynn – Vincent Ralph Luise, 75, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Ralph and Olympia (Pasquariello) Luise.

Vincent graduated in 1967 from St. Mary’s High School where he was captain of their inaugural tennis team, star debater, and developed lasting friendships. He went on to study political science at Boston University graduating with a BA in 1971. From there he continued honing his interest in law and the political process at Suffolk University Law School graduating in 1974 with a JD. He practiced law in Lynn and followed his interest in political science being elected as Councilor-at-Large for the City of Lynn in 1977. He went on to a career as a senior attorney for the New England region of the Social Security Administration for over 40 years.

Vincent was a life-long resident of the city he loved and appreciated long walks along the beach, playing tennis, and introducing his nieces and nephews to the wonders of the ocean. He enjoyed travel to Italy and acquainting himself with his extensive European family. He also relished his annual sojourn to Saratoga NY each August for the famed Travis Cup Race to visit with extended family and friends.

Vincent was a devoted older brother to siblings Joan (Eugene) Hill, Richard Luise, and Mary Jo (Jack) Gavin. He also leaves nieces and nephews David (Lirra) Hill, Alyssa Hill (Harry) Murphy, Patrick (Cate) Gavin, Greg (Sydney) Hill, and Melissa Gavin with whom he loved to share his wisdom and tales of times gone by. He was thrilled to be the great uncle of Enzo and Leo Hill, Ricky and Amelia Murphy, as well as Grace and Jack Gavin and cherished their visits. Special Tommasone and Marotta cousins, especially godchildren Barbara Jean and Christopher Marotta, were a source of great joy as were frequent visits to Riley-land.

Service Information: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, January 23rd at St. Mary’s Church, 8 S. Common Street, Lynn. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Donations in his memory may be made to Compassionate Care ALS.
