Newburyport – Artist, Retired Citizens Bank Vice President, former owner of restaurants Mildred’s and Rave 552 (Boston, MA) and beloved hero to many, Vincent F. Gallucci, Jr. “Vinny”, 59, of Newburyport, MA and Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away suddenly but peacefully after 16 years living, thriving and making beautiful memories while quietly battling ALS. He was a graduate of West Warwick High School (1980) and Rhode Island College (1984).

His broad, welcoming smile and often mischievous humor as well as his candor and beautifully authentic persona will be forever etched in the hearts of those that loved and knew Vinny. His impact on everyone he met was felt the moment a connection was made with him. True to the core and someone who gave his unrelenting support even though he was having struggles of his own. The epitome of what the word “selfless” defines.

He often said he lived a million lives in one, traveling to well over 100 countries, accomplishing success in banking and finance, real estate and any artistic endeavors he pursued including home design, photography, visual arts, and most recently, writing.

Vinny adored spending time with his family and friends, enjoying exquisite foods, watching old movies or new TV shows, playing cards, listening to favorite music, and creating a beautiful ambience for others. Whenever he introduced someone to a new food, show, song or artist, he would watch intently and delight in seeing others love and appreciate what he loved.
He stood boldly against injustices and enjoyed debating and learning from others. He challenged everyone in his orbit to consider other perspectives and most often he was willing to do the same. He never stopped learning and never stopped living an abundantly beautiful life even while living with ALS.

Survived by his loving and devoted spouse of 26 years Charles F Smith, Jr. of Newburyport, MA, step-son Justin B. Smith and his wife, Brittany and daughter Cadence of Hudson, NH, incredibly loving parents, Ann (Capraro) and Vincent Gallucci of West Warwick, RI, sisters Lisa Gallucci Boyes and her husband Michael of West Warwick, RI, Melissa Gallucci Wohlust and her husband Bryan of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, mother and father in-law Robert and Judith Habeeb of Pelham, NH, sister in-law Kim Vestraete and her husband John of Manchester, NH. In addition, he had a special love for his nieces and nephews, Zachary Boyes and his significant other Alexis Smith, Ali Boyes Stepanian and husband Jeff, Madison Wohlust, Beckham Vincent Stepanian, Shane Morrison and wife Amber, twins Kaylee and Amelia Morrison, Steven Morrison and partner Shelly Ward, Cecilia Morrison, Katrina LeBel, and former spouse and forever friend, Gina Caycedo.

A mass of Christian burial will be held in his memory at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road Warwick, RI on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 1pm (Masks required).

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Newburyport, MA.
