Veronica A. (Slack) Powers, 85, a resident of Easton for the past 53 years passed away on October 7, 2025 at Life Care Center of Raynham. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Powers.
Born in Boston, a daughter of the late Preston and Eileen (Mahoney) Slack, she was raised and educated in Dorchester.
Veronica settled in Easton with her late husband Robert where they raised 9 children.
Veronica was employed in the banking industry as a customer service representative for Webster Bank. Previously she was employed as the store manager of Bradlees Department Store at Westgate for 20 years.
A communicant of the Holy Cross Church, she was a member of the church choir.
An avid Bingo player she was a former member of a bowling league at Westgate Lanes.
She enjoyed dancing and ice skating with her late husband Robert as well as playing scrabble and cards.
Most important to Veronica was her strong faith and her devotion to her family.
Veronica is survived by her children, John Powers of Taunton, Bernadette Murphy of Norton, Mary Forcina of Easton, Denise Gilmartin of Raynham, Veronica Pugliesi of Easton, Patricia Dolan of Easton, Eileen Quinlan of Raynham, Thomas Powers of Norton and Julie Clapp of Easton; her siblings, Alice Matchem of Brockton and Leo Slack of West Bridgewater; 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also sister to the late Eileen Leary of Weymouth, and Sheila Clabough of Stoughton.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton on Tuesday October 14, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Furnace Village Cemetery, Easton.
