Susan L. (Winchester) Racine, 63, of Center Ossipee, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous six-year battle with ALS.
Born in Auburn, Massachusetts, Sue was the daughter of the late Harry Winchester and Marjorie (Anderson) Winchester. She graduated from Fitchburg State College and began her career as a Registered Nurse, a role that reflected her natural instinct to care for others. After starting her family, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her four children, later becoming the longtime owner and manager of a mobile home park in Auburn, where she worked for more than 30 years.
Sue shared 42 years of marriage with her husband, Marc Racine, a partnership rooted in deep love, loyalty, and unwavering support. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, guidance, and unconditional love.
To know Sue was to be loved by her. She was endlessly giving, always ready with thoughtful advice or a listening ear, showing up exactly when it mattered most. She loved fiercely and stood firmly for those in her circle, and her quick wit and signature sarcasm could light up a room and keep everyone laughing. Her friendships—especially with “her girls”—were a constant source of joy, laughter, and strength, and the memories they made together were among her most treasured.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Marc; her children, Andrew Racine and his fiancée Mingwun Dana, along with their son Nolan, of LaGrange, ME; Lauren Racine of Auburn, MA; Audra Cloe and her husband Nicholas of Templeton, MA; and Stephen Racine of Auburn, MA. She is also survived by her siblings, Kip Winchester of Maine, Debby Winchester of New York, and Scott Winchester of Massachusetts, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Beth Winchester.
Sue found her greatest peace at her home on Ossipee Lake, where the beauty of the White Mountains and the call of the loons brought her comfort. She loved to travel and especially cherished time spent on trips with her girls to places like Aruba, the Bahamas, and the White Mountains. Above all, she treasured time with her family and took immense pride in being “Gigi” to her beloved grandson, Nolan.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue’s memory to Compassionate Care ALS at http://ccals.org P. O. Box 1052, West Falmouth, MA 02574.
Sue’s warmth, humor, strength, and boundless love will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew her.
