Stephen E. Scanlon, 59 of Colebrook, CT died on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from complications of ALS. Steve was born on April 14, 1964, the son of the late Walter L. Scanlon and Madeleine Carroll Scanlon of Belmont, MA. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1982 and the North Bennet Street School, where he studied carpentry.
Steve loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was hunting or fishing. His friends and his community were important to him, and his spirit will live on in those friendships. Steve fought hard against the limits ALS placed on him, and we are thankful for the people and organizations that helped care for him. We will miss him
fiercely and are grateful he is free from pain.
He is survived by his mother, Madeleine Scanlon of Belmont, MA, brother, Chris Scanlon and Judy MacLeod of Southbridge, MA, sister, Leslie Lee and husband Mike and nieces, Caitlin and Abbey of York, SC.
