Stephanie “Steph” Gore was born on September 18, 1970, in Montreal, Quebec. She spent most of her childhood in New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Valley, as well as a short time in Florida. Steph’s adult years began in the Boston area before moving to Littleton, Colorado. Following her diagnosis, she made her home in Belmont, Massachusetts.

Family was at the center of Steph’s life. She was the devoted mother of her daughter, Yasmina, whom she raised as a single mother in Littleton. Doing so took tremendous strength, courage, and love—qualities that Steph carried throughout her life.

Steph was the 11th of 12 children in a large, blended family. Among the group, Steph stood out with her huge smile and many passions, like animals and discovering the world through international pen pals. Growing up in North Conway, Steph became an exceptional cross-country runner and teammate who ran for the Kennett High School varsity team while still in junior high school. Running remained a central part of her life, reflecting the strength, discipline, and grit that characterized her personality.

Steph graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a degree in computer science and a minor in French. Her lifelong love of languages took her to Paris to study abroad. In an amusing twist, she befriended mostly Spanish nationals while there and returned from France speaking impeccable Spanish.

She built a successful career as a technology consultant, spending the final 14 years of her career at Publicis Sapient. Her work brought together her intelligence, curiosity, technical expertise, and ability to connect with others.

Steph will always be remembered for her love of animals. Despite the many dogs and cats already in the childhood home, she successfully cajoled her parents into adding a guinea pig and a rabbit to the household. Steph’s childhood love of animals continued throughout her adult life. Over the years, she shared her home with many cats, a flock of chickens, a couple of rabbits, and her beloved dog, Sapphire. Steph found great joy in nature, with a sixth sense for spotting rare birds and observing the living world around her.

Steph loved to laugh, especially with her siblings, with whom she shared some of her happiest moments. She was also known as the most fashionable member of the family, with an unmistakable sense of style that was entirely her own.

In the fall of 2024, Steph was diagnosed with ALS/FTD. Though the illness took much from her, it also allowed her to put everything else down and focus on what mattered most: loving and being loved. The time and closeness that followed were a profound gift to Steph and to her entire family.

Steph is survived by her beloved daughter, Yasmina Gore; her twin brother Matthew Gore and his wife Leslie Kerr; her siblings Sean Gore and his wife Melia Gore; Christine St.-Pierre and her partner Caesar Silva; Danielle Green and her husband Mark Green; Dominique Pistono and her husband Mike Pistono; Chris Gore; Silva Gore and her husband Jim Hines; Jon Gore; Teresa Gore and her husband Curtis Dent; Catherine Gore and her husband William Griesbach; and an abundance of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Audrey Dolan and Bernard Gore, and her beloved sister Josée St.-Pierre.

Steph will be remembered for her strength, her curiosity, her devotion to family, her laughter, and her abiding love for animals and the natural world.

An end of life celebration will be held at the Mount Auburn Cemetery on October 3rd with the celebration starting at 11:00am and followed immediately by a reception.
