In Loving Memory of Ruth Ann Brand
February 16, 1968 – November 30, 2024
Ruth Ann Brand passed away on November 30, 2024, at age 56, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s home in Houston, Texas. Her courage, grace, and unshakable faith were hallmarks of her life, even as she faced a diagnosis of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) in September 2023.
Ruth was born on February 16, 1968, in Seattle, Washington to Harold and Esther Gore. She spent her early years in Bryan, Ohio, near the Spangler Candy Company, before moving to Coos Bay, Oregon, where she graduated from Marshfield High School. Later in life, Ruth pursued higher education, graduating magna cum laude from the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in logistics and supply chain management.
After marrying Albert Brand, she dedicated her early adulthood to raising and homeschooling their five children. Her strong Christian faith guided her life, and she found joy in worship music, Yahtzee, Hallmark movies, and creating lasting memories with her family.
As her children grew into adulthood, Ruth embraced a spirit of adventure, traveling extensively to destinations including Israel, Turkey, and Europe. Her resilience and unwavering faith in God were an inspiration to all who knew her, even as she navigated the devastating progression of ALS with grace and strength.
Ruth is lovingly remembered by her parents, Harold and Esther Gore, Albert Brand, sister Janet Baldwin, brother Philip Gore [Julie Gore], brother Tim Gore [Alice Gore], son Daniel Brand [Meredith Brand], daughter Kathryn Brand [Mitchell Moore], son Thomas Brand [Rachel Brand], daughter Rebekah Brand, son Jeremiah Brand [Michelle Hayek], and her cherished grandchildren Winter Brand, Maya Moore, and many more yet to come.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Forest Ridge Memorial Park Funeral Home in North Richland Hills, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Team Gleason, Compassionate Care ALS. These organizations greatly improved Ruth’s quality of life throughout her journey. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the friends and loved ones who supported Ruth and her family during this difficult time.
Ruth’s love, faith, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
