Robert Cody Lenhardt, Jr. (50), husband of Leslie Stidham Lenhardt, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025 after a valiant battle with ALS. He was blessed to be surrounded by his immediate family in their loving home.

Cody was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cody Lenhardt (Mary Ellen), both longtime Charlestonians. Cody graduated in 1992 from Bishop England High School where he played soccer, the game he deeply loved. Of note, he teamed up with his many friends and younger brother to win the S.C. High School state championship in his senior year. Cody received his Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in 1996 and was an active member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He went on to receive a Master of Science degree in Environmental Studies from The Medical University of South Carolina in 1999 and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2002. He was a well-respected member of the South Carolina Bar and the Charleston County Bar and focused his practice on environmental law. He was also a member of the Hibernian Society. Above all else, Cody was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and cousin to his beloved family, both immediate and extended.

Cody is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Leslie; sons, Robert Cody Lenhardt III, Charles McGregor Lenhardt (Mac), and William Bratton Riley, Jr.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cody Lenhardt (Mary Ellen); his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sims Lenhardt (Mary Claire), his nephews, Charles Colton Lenhardt (Colt), Thomas Finn Lenhardt, and niece, Ellington Sims Lenhardt; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Reese McGregor Stidham IV (Jill) and nephews, Reese McGregor Stidham V (Quinn) and Levy Campbell Stidham (Camp).

A celebration of Cody’s life will be held for family and friends at the Hibernian Society, 105 Meeting Street from 3:00 until 6:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Compassionate Care ALS (ccals.org, P.O. Box 1052, West Falmouth, MA 02574).
