Pat (Lyman) Scampoli,of Plymouth passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2026, at the age of 73, with her husband by her side, after a courageous battle with ALS.
Born on December 6, 1952, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Pat was the daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (DeLory) Lyman. She was raised in Weymouth before building a life centered on faith, family, and caring for others.
In 1981, she married the love of her life, Michael Scampoli. Over the next 45 years they built a life together rooted in family, faith, and unwavering devotion to one another.They raised their three children in Pembroke, where they lived from 1986 until 2015 before settling in Plymouth.
Pat is survived by her loving husband, Michael; her children, Christian Scampoli and his wife Kate , Jordan Scampoli and his wife Sarah Ryan, and Taryn Johnson and her husband Alex; and her beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Laiken, Brooke and Camryn, who affectionately knew her as “Gaga.” Becoming a grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she treasured every moment she spent with them.
She is also survived by her sisters Nancy Leonard, Donna Serra, Bobbie Tuffy, Frannie Lamere, and Dottie Driscoll. She was predeceased by her sister, Carol Cavanaugh.
When she wasn’t raising her family, Pat had several careers through her life, from Metlife to the Christmas Tree Shop, eventually working at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Hanover before becoming secretary at her home parish of St. Thecla’s in Pembroke, where she remained until she retired. Afterward, she was a devoted member of St. Bonaventure’s Parish in Plymouth.
Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. She spent many years visiting elderly and homebound parishioners, bringing them Holy Communion, offering companionship,and quietly caring for those who could no longer care for themselves. Serving others was never something she sought recognition for—it was simply who she was.
For the past 42 years, Pat and Mike spent their summers at their cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. It was her happy place. Every summer, she packed up the family and spent nearly the entire school vacation at the lake, where countless memories were made boating, jet skiing, swimming, campfires, the Sandwich Fair, and celebrating the Fourth of July. No summer felt complete without a trip to Polly’s Pancake Parlor, where enjoying a pancake breakfast became one of her favorite family traditions.
In retirement, Pat and Mike enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, exploring national parks together and seeing parts of the country from one of mom’s many ‘50 Places to Visit’ books. They also cherished spending winters at their home in Port Charlotte, Florida, creating another chapter of memories together.
Above all, Pat will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was bringing her family together. Her love, kindness, and steadfast faith will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, July 9, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Manomet. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 10, at 10:00 AM at St. Bonaventure Parish, 801 State Rd. Manomet. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in Pembroke.
