FRANCIS, Patricia Ann (McNeil) , age 74, of Nashua, NH, passed away on December 18, 2023, peacefully at home, after living with ALS for the past three years.

Pat was born on July 10, 1949 to Ethel (Moran) McNeil and Charles McNeil of Waltham, MA. She grew up in Burlington, MA, in a neighborhood surrounded by a loving extended family. Pat graduated from Burlington High School with the class of 1967, where she cultivated a lifelong passion for learning and teaching, continuing her educational journey with a B.S. from UMass-Amherst, class of 1971, a Master’s in HHS from Springfield College and a second Master’s as a Reading Specialist from Rivier University. Her professional career reflected the same path, teaching in Lowell, MA and Nashua, NH, and eventually teaching reading with her daughter at SNH Speech Therapy & Learning Center. Pat was a voracious reader, accumulating a library of passage-marked books she used to inform and educate herself. Pat’s two passions in life were her family and reading. She enjoyed 51 years of marriage with Leo (Bud) Francis, her high school sweetheart. She was grateful for the ability to stay home and raise her two children, and later, help care for all four of her grandchildren. She loved spending time at the beach with her family and learning about her family roots. Pat and Bud’s 2012 trip to ancestral Ireland celebrated their 40th anniversary. Pat is survived by her husband, Bud Francis; brother, Joseph Thibideau and wife, Pam and family of Poland, NY; daughter, Jennifer Francis and husband, Greg Snoke; and their children, Charlie and Ellie of Nashua, NH; son, Matthew Francis and wife, Amanda Sutter-Francis; and their children, Norah and Alana of Hollis, NH; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visiting Hours are to be held at Davis Funeral Home in Nashua, NH, on Wednesday, December 27, from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Christopher Parish in Nashua, NH, at 10 am, on Thursday, December 28, followed by interment at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua, NH.
