Nancy Jean Chapin, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on the morning of her 64th birthday, Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024. She fought a valiant battle with ALS, after being diagnosed in November of 2020.

She leaves her siblings, Jean Marie Reheuser, and John Chapin, both of Auburn; and her nieces, Alexa Reheuser, of Auburn, and Brianna Laflamme, of Ware.

Nancy was born in Marlborough, daughter of the late Robert J. and Shirley M. (Jartz) Chapin. She graduated from Framingham State College (now University), receiving a Bachelor’s of Arts. Nancy had an extensive career as a Business Analyst at Hanover Insurance Company, retiring after 37 years.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and socializing with friends and family. She was also known as an avid reader.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Compassionate Care ALS, P.O. Box 1052, West Falmouth, MA 02574.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Chapin family from 2 – 4 PM on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday October 28th at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn, with burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
