SOLOD, Myrna Of Quincy, formerly of Randolph and Milton, passed away quietly on Wednesday morning, January 4, 2023, after a long illness.

Myrna was a child of the ’60s, who devoted her life to civil rights and love of humankind. Born in Boston on June 20, 1944, Myrna was the daughter and middle child of the late Morris and Ethel Schneiderman of Milton. She is survived by her devoted husband, Arnold, of 52 years; her daughter, Danielle Notis and her husband, Gareth of Duxbury; and her son, Ari Solod and his wife, Jodie of Quincy. She also leaves behind four granddaughters, Ella, Clara, and Clementine Notis, and Orianna Solod.

Myrna grew up in Milton and graduated from Milton High School before graduating from Boston University with a BA in psychology. After conducting further graduate studies at BU, Myrna moved to Chicago, IL, to work with emotionally challenged and autistic children under the supervision of psychoanalyst, Dr. Bruno Bettleheim at the Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School on the University of Chicago campus. In 1968, Myrna moved back to the Boston area to marry her loving husband, Arnie. After raising her two children, she returned to the workforce with a paralegal degree from Bentley University. Shortly thereafter, she began her 28-year career at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, serving as the Clerk of the Commission for 20 years until her retirement in 2022. In her later years, Myrna cherished her volunteer work alongside her husband in Israel, where they spent a month, each year, working with children in an educational setting for nine years. She was also participated in a a blood donor program at Massachusetts General Hospital for over 20 years.

Services will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, CANTON, on Sunday, January 8, 2022, at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park. Zoom link available. Shiva will be held at her late residence following the Burial, Monday through Thursday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
