Michael “Mike” John Rose, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 19, 2026. He was born on Wednesday, April 12, 1961, in Oconomowoc, WI to the late Wolfgang and Renate (nee Burnitzki) Rose.

Mike will be remembered for his courage and generosity. Physical activity wasn’t just something he did—it was part of who he was. He found pure joy in movement and had a deep love for swimming, race walking, stand-up paddle boarding, cycling, playing tennis, racquetball, sand volleyball, and softball. Those who knew him will always hear his laugh and remember his adventurous spirit.

Beyond his love of sport, Mike felt most at peace outdoors. Whether he was camping, exploring tropical destinations, or relaxing oceanside, he was happiest in the sunshine—especially with his toes in the sand and the steady rhythm of the waves nearby.

His diagnosis of ALS and the devastation it brought in the last year felt like a profound betrayal of the active body he had cherished.

Mike dedicated the last 24 years of his career to Siemens Healthineers, where he built lasting relationships and took great pride in his work. Known for his deep knowledge, integrity, and commitment, he was a trusted mentor and respected pillar of his team.

Mike is survived by his three children, Zachary Rose, Noah Rose, and Madeline (Alex) Rose Caccamo; one granddaughter, Evelynn Rose; one sister, Annette Rose; one niece, Ursula Rose; and his former wife, mother of his children, and friend, Liz (her husband, Dan) Helgren.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his long-term caregivers who treated Mike with such tenderness and respect over the past year: Priscilla, Donna, and Kiarra. We’d also like to thank the dedicated hospice caregivers whose kindness, dignity, and presence brought peace and comfort to both Mike and our family.

In honoring Mike’s life, may we never take for granted the remarkable gift of our bodies and their ability to move.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made at www.ccals.org by clicking “donate” or “search tributes”.
