We remember and celebrate the life of Michael J. Lamoureux, who passed away on December 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in Wilbraham, Massachusetts.

Born on June 26, 1956, in Springfield, Massachusetts. Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He grew up in the Sixteen Acres neighborhood of Springfield and eventually made his home in Belchertown, where he and his loving wife of 38 years, Erin (Poe) Lamoureux, raised their three children.Michael was predeceased by his cherished parents, Joseph and Delores (McCarthy) Lamoureux, and his brother, Kevin Lamoureux. He is survived by his devoted wife Erin, their children, Mike J. Lamoureux Jr., Caitlin A. Healy and her husband Derek, and Christopher R. Lamoureux. His joy extended to his grandchildren Preston Lamoureux-Fann, Finn J. Healy, Penelope Thiem-Lamoureux, Jaxon Thiem-Lamoureux, and Lennon Jean Healy, who all benefited from his love and laughter. Michael leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness and generosity to all that knew him.

Throughout his professional life, Michael dedicated many years to Healthtrax and later worked in various roles at Aflac Insurance for two decades before retiring in 2021. He was an avid athlete who found joy in the Men’s Golf League at Mill Valley Golf Course and the Corn Hole League through the VFW in Belchertown. Above all else, Michael loved spending time with his family; especially time spent at Misquamicut and Salisbury Beach.

A celebration of Michael’s life will commence with a period of visitation on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Contributions will allow Michael’s legacy of care and compassion to continue. Michael J. Lamoureux’s life was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He will be profoundly missed but will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
