Michael John Corbett “Mike”, 72 of Plymouth, MA formerly of Braintree, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family April 10, 2026.
Mike was known for his competitive spirit, willingness to debate, and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends.
Mike grew up in Dorchester where he bonded with neighborhood kids and continued those loyal friendships throughout his life.
After high school, Mike attended Bentley University, graduating in 1980 with a degree in finance. It was at Bentley that he met his brothers of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity, forming bonds that lasted long after graduation.
Mike enjoyed a distinguished 39-year career in finance, serving as a dedicated Controller. Known for meticulous attention to detail, high ethical standards, and unwavering integrity, Mike was respected by colleagues for streamlining financial operations and overseeing critical fiscal planning with precision.
Mike was a devoted Husband of the late Margaret (Kennedy) Corbett, Father, Brother and Friend. He looked forward to time spent with family and staying connected with close friends over lunch. He enjoyed watching New England sports, running the annual football pool, playing cards, horseshoes, bocci and of course, managing money and crunching numbers.
Mike is survived by his cherished son Michael J. Corbett Jr. of South Boston. His loving siblings, Nancy and Dennis O’Rourke of Hollis, NH; Mark and Christine Corbett of Stoneham; Debra and John Crowley of Braintree; Roseanne and Ray Haynes of Salem, NH; as well as many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.
Mike was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret K. Corbett, his parents, John J. Corbett and Catherine M. “Snookie” Corbett, and his brother Joseph S. Corbett.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 21st at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish – Sacred Heart Church, 72 Washington St., WEYMOUTH at 10:30 am. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery, BRAINTREE. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 20th at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., EAST MILTON SQUARE from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
