Maureen Anne Conway, of Quincy passed away on June 13, 2026, at the age of 76 years.
Maureen was the daughter of Nora (O’Leary) Conway and John Joseph Conway, one of six children. After spending a large part of her childhood in the Columbia Point Community, her family moved to Thornley Street in the St. Williams neighborhood of Dorchester. She spent most of her adult life calling Quincy, MA and County Clare, Ireland, home.
Maureen was preceded in death by her brothers: Thomas P. Conway and James B. Conway.
She is survived by her brothers John J. Conway and Francis X. Conway and her sister Eileen Conway Martin. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law: Judith Sweeney Conway, Joanne Duffy Conway, Patricia Barrett Conway, her brother-in-law: John Martin, and many cousins in Ireland including: Sean Conway and Catherine Hickey, Maura and Maurice Herlihy, Nancy Conway, Anne and James Heffernan, Thomas and Teresa Conway, Breda and Maurice O’Neill, Mary and Oliver Mannion, Joseph and Monica Conway, Angela and John Sheehan. She was a loving aunt to Anne Marie Conway, Mary Conway Bashir, Kerry Conway and Bryan Schwarzel, Chris Conway and Laura Udden, Peter and Lucy Conway, Kaitlin Conway, Nora Martin, Shawn and Bryanna Martin and Anne Marie Hurley Sirois.
Maureen graduated from Monsieur Ryan Memorial High School and Boston University and was a life-long learner at UMass Boston and Quincy College. She was employed at Sheet Metal Workers Union, Carney Hospital, TuftsHealth Plan and High Point Solutions. Maureen was very devoted to serving her community and making connections wherever she went. She was an active member of Quincy Access Television, Quincycles, the Mayor’s Commission on Women and the Reynolds-Hanafin-Cooley Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, a nonprofit organization founded in Boston in 1975 for the preservation of Irish traditional music. She also cherished her friendships through her annual sailing trips aboard Mary Day Schooner in Camden, Maine.
Upon the death of her father in 1980, Maureen went “home” to Ireland and united family across the globe. Thanks to the beloved “Yank,” all Conways have been and will continue to be welcomed home.
Maureen’s humor, energy, advocacy, loyalty and fun-loving spirit were contagious and touched those around her.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, June 25th, at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. Quincy, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial for Maureen will occur at Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock St, Quincy, MA 02171 on Friday, June 26th at 10 AM followed by an interment at New Cavalry Cemetery, 800 Harvard St. Mattapan, MA.
