Smith, Maureen Ann (McKenna) of Winchester, died peacefully on February 3, surrounded by family members and her devoted and loving husband Arthur R (Russ) Smith, to whom she was married for 61 years.
She was born in Somerville MA in 1938 and was the eldest of 14 children. She is survived by 13 of her siblings as well as many Nieces, and Nephews and Grand Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, and many dear Friends. Her family is most grateful to her wonderful caregivers for the loving care she received from them.
She was one of a kind and there were countless people, including her husband, whose lives were touched in a special way by the encouragement and caring of this special person. She made a beautiful difference and left this world a better place for having been part of it.
Maureen was the devoted sister of Margaret Sullivan (late Donald), Marilyn Herlihy (Edward), Madelyn Gilarde (Thomas), Michael McKenna, Paul McKenna (Dale), Stephen McKenna (Margaret), Mary Alice Lally (late Thomas), Kevin McKenna (Linda), Shawn McKenna (Kathleen), Michelle Walata (Mark), Marcia Lopez (late Steven), Maura Power (late James) and Meghan Gallagher (Michael).
We ask God to bring her home and care for her until we see her again.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford Street, ARLINGTON, on Monday, February 10th from 9-11AM. Her Funeral Mass will follow in the Church at 11:30AM. Burial to conclude in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maureen’s memory to Compassionate Care ALS.
