1957 – 2024

Maryanne (Gagnon) Fesko, 67, of South Hadley, MA passed away on September 5th 2024 from complications associated with ALS.

Maryanne was born in Holyoke, MA on May 12, 1957 to Normand Gagnon and Helen (Quinlan) Gagnon.
After graduating from South Hadley High School in 1975, she married her high school sweetheart David G. Fesko and began her lifelong dedication to nursing. She attended the Nursing Program at William J. Dean Vocational-Technical High School in Holyoke, MA and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. After 47 years of providing care and compassion to her patients, the majority of which was in Assisted Living, Maryanne retired in March of 2023 from East Village Place in East Longmeadow, MA. In May of 2023 Maryanne was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Maryanne was a proud wife, mother and grandmother, whose greatest joy was spending time with her family-especially by the ocean. Her unwavering dedication and support will be profoundly missed by her family. She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, David G. Fesko, their beloved cat Stuart and their three children and families-David C. Fesko and fiancé Sara Dignard of Chicopee MA, Melissa (Fesko) and John Letot, children Madison (14) and Cohen (12) of Ellington, CT and Cynthia (Fesko) Thielen and her daughters Maya (14) and Avery (11) of South Hadley, MA. Maryanne is predeceased by her parents and brother, Daniel Gagnon. She is survived by her eight siblings-Gerald Gagnon, Patricia (Gagnon) Grochowalski, Suzanne (Gagnon) Long, Betty-Jean (Gagnon) Laprade, Kenneth Gagnon, Dorothy (Gagnon) Scott, Constance (Gagnon) Desjardins, and Christine (Gagnon) Vought, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday September 21st 2024 at St. Patrick’s Church in South Hadley at 10:00 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow at the Elks Lodge in Holyoke, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Compassionate Care ALS (ccals.org) who provides services for those impacted by the disease.
