NORTHAMPTON, MA – Maryann Frechette, 69, of Northampton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 after a courageous battle with ALS. She was surrounded by her family who fought the fight with her, offering her much love, care and dignity in her final days.
Maryann was born in Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Maurice Roche and Virginia (Aldrich) Corliss. She was the stepdaughter of the late Leonard Corliss, Virginia’s second husband. Maryann resided in Florence for many years. She worked for the family business, Anton Corliss Cleaners, over 50 years before retiring in 2023 as Operations Manager. Maryann had a wonderful smile and big Hello for all her customers and loved hearing about their families. She loved walking, especially with her English Black Lab Haley, and was a familiar sight in early morning Florence. She relished spending time with her family, especially gardening with her sister, Nancy. She was a proud Marine Corps mom of her dedicated son, Tyler. She loved a road trip, either by car or on a Harley-Davidson riding the highways and byways of New England with her life partner, Grant.
Maryann leaves her life partner, Grant Goodwin of Northampton. Her children, Tyler Frechette of Woodbridge, VA. and Kristen (Frechette) Howe of MA.; their father Andrew Frechette of Northampton; her siblings; Nancy Westgate and her husband Bob of Chesterfield, Pamela Speed of Easthampton, Mary McAnaugh of Chicopee, Ramona Corliss of Middletown, CT., Leonard Corliss Jr. and his wife Mariam of Scottsdale, AZ., Michael Corliss and his wife Karen of Punta Gorda, FLA. and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive all who wish to attend visiting hours at AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 Bridge Rd., on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. There will be a Service of Remembrance at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Jack Cooper. Burial will be in the Spring at Bofat Cemetery in Chesterfield.
