Margaret “Peggie” Bondurant (Fanning) formerly of Newton, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on October 29 after a long battle with ALS. She is survived by her loving family; Mary and Bill, James and Amy, Robert and Stephanie, Billy and Debbie, Ann and Frank, Joan, her many nieces and nephews, son Eric, daughter-in-law Alicia and granddaughter Macy. She is predeceased by her beloved mother Charlotte, father Richard and sister Claire.
Peggie was Born on November 12, 1958 in Newton, MA and later resided in Millbury, MA. She graduated Newton North High School in 1976 and went on to get her Associates Degree at Mass Bay Community College. Peggie had a successful career in the Biotech field, most recently at Shire and Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
She led a wonderful life filled with love and adventure! She was devoted to her family and friends, and was known for her infectious gift of gab! Peggie was the most talented baker who delighted everyone she knew with delicious cakes and cookies. Her sweet treats were legendary and spread joy wherever she went! She was also a gifted crafter who created amazing cross stitch and loved to sew; and an extraordinary gardener who was so proud of her immaculate lawn and garden. There was also no fix-it-up project she couldn’t handle – from painting to tiling – she was a Jill of all trades!
Peggie was an avid traveler and adored the beach! She grew up spending summers in Scituate, Cape Cod and most recently Ogunquit, ME. She loved music, especially disco, and was the life of the party who was always spreading laughter and cheer. She was a great athlete and a super Boston sports fan who faithfully watched the Patriots and Red Sox. Most of all, she treasured her family, and was so proud of being Mimi to her incredible granddaughter Macy! Peggie was the strongest woman you could ever know! She fought ALS with dignity and grace, and was a beautiful person inside and out!
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 6 from 2-5pm at Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggie’s memory can be made to Compassionate Care ALS, PO Box 1052 West Falmouth, MA 02574 or online at https://www.ccals.org.
