Margaret (Peg) Cruise, 75, of Brockton, MA passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family after a brief, brave battle with Glioblastoma on May 18th, 2025.

She was born in Brockton, MA in 1949 to Joseph and Margaret (Neafsey) Cruise. Peg graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School in 1967. She worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance for 40 years until her retirement in 2009.

Peg lived a simple, meaningful life rooted in love, loyalty, and laughter. She never needed much – just her family, a good game on TV, and a little luck at the casino. She loved nothing more than a good get-together where family and friends shared each other’s company, sang songs, and celebrated with one another. During the last couple of difficult months, Peg made sure to tell everyone to “just keep singing”.

Peg’s family was her greatest source of pride and comfort. She was always just a phone call away and was there for anything anyone needed. Peg’s siblings and their spouses held a special place in her heart and the bond she shared with them was unshakable. Peg’s most treasured role was that of aunt. She loved her nieces and nephews, treasuring every minute she spent with them. Peg loved watching the family grow and treasured her great-aunt role as well.

Peg is survived by her siblings, MaryEllen (Jon) Churchill of Falmouth, Paul (Patti King) Cruise of Bridgewater, Tim (Donna) Cruise of Brockton, Maureen Cruise of Brockton, and Meghan (Gerry) Cassidy of Brockton. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Sean (Sarah) Cruise, Siobhan (Chris) Tilton, Caroline (Pat) Pelletier, Michael (Stephanie) Cruise, Ned (Nicole) Cassidy, Bridget Cassidy, Joseph Cruise, Adam (Christine) King, and Laura (Pat) Murphy. And her great nieces and nephews Teagan, Callen, Sydney Cruise, Elizabeth Cruise-Geddes, Barry Cruise and Ella Pelletier. She is also survived by many loving Neafsey and Cruise cousins.

Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life well-lived – filled with love, loyalty and laughter.

In lieu of flowers, Peg’s family asks you to share an act of kindness to help others. Donations in her memory can also be made to the Compassionate Care ALS, P.O. Box 1052, West Falmouth, MA 02574 or ccals.org.
