In Sandwich, October 27, 2018, Lisa Margaret (Halloran) Chalke, O.F.S., age 61, passed away after a courageous battle with ALS.

Lisa met Steve, her future husband, while she was working as a cashier at the Dennis Public Market. They were married on October 18, 1981. Born in Milton, MA, daughter of Donald & Madeline (O’Loughlin) Halloran, Lisa was educated at St. Clare High School in Roslindale and graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in Business in 1979. Lisa worked in the insurance industry until she chose to dedicate her time to being a full time wife and mother. Lisa was an active member of Corpus Christi Parish in East Sandwich where she taught Faith Formation classes. Lisa was professed to a secular Franciscan Order in 1987 and was a minister at the St. Francis of the Cape Fraternity. Lisa’s hobbies included singing, playing the piano, enjoying the outdoors, feeding the birds, and gardening.

In addition to her husband of 37 years, Lisa is survived by her daughters, Meghan of Cotuit, Bernadette of Gardner, Monica of Buzzards Bay, Maryanne of Buzzards Bay, and Stephanie Rogers and her husband Jeff of Raleigh, N.C. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Halloran of San Antonio, TX, her in-laws Grandville & Mary Susan Chalke, and her British Cream Golden Retriever, Chloe, who was always by her side.

Funeral arrangements are being coordinated through the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Sandwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Corpus Christi Church in East Sandwich on Wednesday morning, October 31st at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, October 30th from 4-8 pm at Corpus Christi Church.
