Saugus – Lisa Ann (Brown) Donovan, age 59, passed away on Sunday morning at Massachusetts General Hospital, after a courageous battle with ALS. She was the wife of Det. James E. Donovan (SPD), with whom she shared 35 years of marriage.
Born in Saugus and raised in Lynn and Nahant, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Elizabeth (Ellis) Brown. Lisa was a 1980 graduate of Lynn Tech. She was class president and a member of the Lynn Tech Hall of Fame.
Later, with a Master’s Degree of Education, specializing in special education, as well as a Master’s Degree in School Administration, Lisa returned to Lynn as a special education teacher in Lynn Public Schools. She was a resident of Saugus for the last 35 years. Lisa loved her family, scary movies, and had a passion for art.
Besides her husband, Lisa is survived by her two children; James Donovan (SFD) of Boston and his fiancé Justina Levey, as well as her daughter Rachael Patrizzi and her husband, Guido Patrizzi, of Beverly. She was also a fur mom to her dog, Vincent and her cat, Betty. She was the sister of Mark Brown of NC, Arnold Brown of NH, Joseph Brown of NH, Nancy Pivacek of Salisbury and Jennifer Brown of TN. Lisa will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
