Joyce H. (Melanson) Hill, 79, of Brockton, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, after a brief period of declining health at Accent Health Care in Milton.
Born on March 12, 1946, in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Albert A. Melanson and Claire (Bradley) Melanson. She graduated from Hingham High School in 1964.
Joyce worked in various roles throughout her life, including as an interior decorator, hairdresser, doctor’s assistant, and in clothing sales, from which she eventually retired.
She enjoyed walking, exercising, wine tasting, mixology, and interior decorating.
She is survived by her sons: John B. Hill of Athol; Christopher M. Hill and his wife Julie of East Bridgewater; and Patrick J. Hill and his wife Summer of Brockton. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Alexis Hill, Christian Hill, Devon Hill, Collin Kane, Gwyneth Hill, Lilah Hill, Zoey Hill, and Regan Hill; her great-grandchild: Rosalie Hill; her siblings: Robert Melanson, Judith Manley, and Dorothy Hutchins; and her companion, Jim Collier. She was predeceased by her siblings Janet Newman, Joseph Melanson, and Claire Cassell.
Funeral services will be held from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rt. 123), Brockton, on Saturday, September 13th at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 12th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassionate Care ALS, PO Box 1052, West Falmouth, MA 02574.
