Joseph Paul Mancari, 69, of Pittsfield passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with ALS.
Joe was born in Pittsfield on October 6, 1955, the beloved son of Francis and Mary (Garnish) Mancari. He was a 1974 graduate of Lenox Memorial High School. Continuing his education, he graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Joe happily served as a Civil Engineer for the Massachusetts DOT for over 40 years.
Joe was a man of deep faith and a member of St. Joseph’s Church. He enjoyed sailing, camping, motorcycling and taking care of his home. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Joe leaves his wife, Joann (Reed) of 40 years, whom he married October 6, 1984. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents of Lenox; three sons, Nicholas (Ingrid) Mancari of Dalton, Reed (Karyn) Mancari of Pittsfield, and Lucas (Lindsey) Mancari of Pittsfield; brother, Francis Mancari, Jr., of Port St. Lucie, FL, sister, Cathy MacDonald (Keith) of Chicopee, MA, brother Mark Mancari (BJ) of Pittsfield, and sister Trish Petricca (Jeff Carpenter) of Lanesboro. Joe also leaves his mother and father-in-law James and Judy Reed of Hyannis, MA.
Papa Joe adored and will remain in the hearts of his ten grandchildren, Sophia, Lola, Scarlett, Dominick, Calla, Joey, Arlo, Lucy, Barrett and Miles, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joe and his family would like to thank everyone for all their love and support.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Joseph P. Mancari will be Friday, December 27, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make memorial contributions to Compassionate Care A.L.S. in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
