Jeanne M. (McCue) Lilly, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2024, after a short battle with ALS. She was the dear wife to Thomas M. Lilly for over 45 years. Born, raised and educated in Hempstead, NY, she was the daughter of the late George McCue and Jean (Hejnas) McCue. Jeanne and Tom got married in 1978 and started their family in Colorado Springs, CO before moving to Brockton in 1985, becoming longtime residents of the city. She was a registered nurse for over 50 years, working as both an ICU nurse in New York and a visiting nurse throughout South Shore, MA during her career, always showing compassion and sharing her personable nature to each person she cared for. She made many friendships with her co-workers as they remained close long after she stopped working. Jeanne loved cooking for her family, with her famous M&M’s cookies always on hand for family gatherings – which wouldn’t last very long. She also enjoyed sewing in her younger years, but above all she was a devoted homemaker, always ensuring her husband and children were taken care of. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband Tom, Jeanne is survived by her son Mike Lilly and his wife Renna, and was preceded in death by her dearest daughter Shannon Lilly, who’s untimely passing was in 1994. She is also survived by her beloved grand-daughter Olivia Lilly; her siblings Ginny Costello, Margy Manning, and Larry McCue; and her sister-in-law Peggy Cihak. She also leaves behind several nephews and close friends.
Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Monday October 14th from 4-5:30 PM, with Funeral Prayers at 5:30 PM. The burial will be held the next day, Tuesday October 15th at 11:00 AM, at the St. Charles/Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Avenue Farmingdale, NY 11735. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanne’s memory may be made to Compassionate Care ALS at https://ccals.org/donate.
