Falmouth – Janet Marie Brand of Falmouth died on April 26, 2021, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with ALS. She was an incredibly devoted Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, and Friend. Janet was born on March 5, 1946, in Arlington, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Leona and Francis Lynch. She graduated from Braintree High School in 1964. She married the love of her life, John R. Brand, Jr., in 1966 and raised four loving children. She was a dedicated mother who supported her children in every aspect of their lives. Our mom was a faithful Catholic and a parishioner of St. Anthony’s church for over 50 years.

She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, her daughter Deborah Seale, son the late John Brand III, daughter-in-law Cate Brand, daughter Lauri Thompson, son-in-law Donald Thompson, son Todd Brand and daughter-in-law Joy Brand. She also leaves behind her only sister, Patricia Belanger of Bridgewater, her four wonderful nieces, Kathy, Linda, Lisa, and Kristine, her best friend, Linda Cowie, and her lifelong friend, Blanche Doolin. She spent many years working for Bradlees and Mutual Savings bank, where she made lasting friendships. Our Mom was loved by so many in the Falmouth community and held these relationships dear to her heart— Thank you for loving our mom.

She was a humble and modest woman except when it came to speaking of her children, and especially her grandchildren. The most fulfilling role that brought her the most joy in life was being Nana to Amanda, Noelle, and Benjamin Seale of Falmouth, Donny, Sara, and Abigail Thompson of Mashpee, John Brand, IV of Shrewsbury, Owen Brand of Falmouth, and Ava Brand of Falmouth. She was proud that her children planted their roots close to home, allowing her to support her grandchildren through all the seasons of their young lives.

At the request of the family, services will be private.

Our Family would like to thank CCALS of Falmouth for all the loving support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CCALS of West Falmouth. You can donate online at CCALS.org or mail a check to CCALS PO Box 1052. West Falmouth, MA 02574.
