WELCH, James G. “Jim”, of Melrose passed suddenly on April 16, 2021, at the age of 67.

Born in Somerville to the late James and Jean (Panzer) Welch. Beloved and adored husband and soulmate of 43 years to Mary M. Welch (Shea) of Melrose. Idolized, treasured father and kindred spirit of Lauren Dunn of Stoneham. The Proudest role of being a grandfather, known as “Gar” of Emma Dunn. Cherished brother of Robert Welch and his wife Margaret of Somerville, and the late Paul and John “Jackie” Welch. Dear brother in law of Mary Welch of Medford, Sr. Eileen Shea, SSND of CT, and Joan Shea and her husband Robert Eskin of Brighton. Loving uncle of Johnny, Mollie, Emily, Michael, and Colleen. He is also survived by great nieces, great nephews, relatives, friends, and especially the heart of his closest friends also known as “Lost people”. His larger than life personality left an imprint on the hearts of anyone know who was blessed to have met him.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, ARLINGTON, on Thursday, April 22, from 4-8PM. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing, and kindly pay their respects and exit to allow other guests to enter. A limited number of guests will be allowed in the funeral home at one time. His Funeral Service and Burial will be Private.
