Eric R. Taylor, 39, of Centerville, passed away on August 22nd. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim (Monroe) Taylor, and sons, Bryson and Parker.
A native Cape Codder, Eric was a graduate of Barnstable High School, where he met Kim. They dated after graduation, and later married at their favorite beach, Dowses. Eric was most proud of everything he and Kim accomplished as a couple, and as parents. Encouraging one another in their professional pursuits and working hard to make their personal dreams come true. Their shared accomplishments included creating a loving, supportive home for their family of four, just down the road from where he grew up.

Eric, a hands-on Dad, enjoyed playing badminton in the backyard with Bryson and Parker, along with bonding during some very intense Fortnite matches. Kim, always his biggest fan, enjoyed watching him complete the simplest of tasks, laughed at all of his jokes, and of course, loved his trademark giggle. The two enjoyed a special love that many never experience in a lifetime.

Additionally, Eric was very proud of his work. He joined the Brotherhood of the Carpenter’s Union at age 19. The majority of those years he worked as a Union Carpenter with Sunrise Erectors. He contributed to many large projects in Boston, and here at home. Kim recalls trips to Boston where Eric would proudly point out his contributions to the Boston skyline. Two of his local projects were the Mugar addition to Cape Cod Hospital and the Cape Cod 5 Bank Headquarters.

Eric enjoyed cooking with his mother, Mary Ann, and he never balked at being her sous chef or head dishwasher. His mother also “trained” Eric and his brothers, John and Michael, from a young age, to be avid New England sports fans. Each Fall, Eric would look forward to beating his brothers in fantasy football, and enjoyed the razzing for another year. Eric was always up for a good conversation and a cold Coors Light. He was unafraid to be tender and loving, traits inherited from his father, John.

In addition to Kim, Bryson, and Parker, Eric also leaves behind his mother Mary Ann (Gonsalves)Taylor; brother John Taylor, sister-in-law Jamie, nieces Hayleigh, Belle, Zooey, & Penny; brother Michael Taylor, nephew Devon, nieces Madison & Sydney; mother-in-law Maureen Monroe; brother-in-law Brian Monroe; sister & brother-in-law Stephanie & James Bentley, nephew Garrett, niece Sierra; and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. Eric is predeceased by his father John C. Taylor and by father-in-law Howard Monroe.
