AMESBURY – Mrs. Ellen M. (Dolliver) Vaillancourt, 82, of Amesbury, beloved wife of Henry L. Vaillancourt, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27th, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Robert Dolliver and Agnes (Thibault) McGrane. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School. Ellen continued her education, receiving her accreditation in secretarial studies.
Ellen embarked on a long and successful career as an office manager, beginning at the United Shoe Machinery Corp. and retiring from the New England League of Middle Schools. Ellen embodied dedication and professionalism, and her work ethic was exceptional throughout her career. She excelled in her role and was deeply respected by her colleagues.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Ellen’s love for her family was unmatched. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, involved in their many activities, celebrating their milestones and especially doting on her grandchildren. Ellen found peace and happiness travelling, exploring numerous national parks, and embarking on adventures across Europe. She particularly cherished her journey aboard the Queen Mary, always savoring every moment and making lasting memories with her family. Ellen touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. With her spirit of compassion and dedication to helping others, Ellen tirelessly devoted her time to serving her community, volunteering at the church food bank, holiday gift drive, and supporting the senior center. Ellen will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her life of compassion, generosity and love will live on in their hearts for generations to come.
Surviving Ellen in addition to her husband Henry with whom she shared 62 years of marriage are her sons, David Vaillancourt and his wife Venes of Derry, NH, Michael Vaillancourt and his wife Cynthia of Ellicott City, MD and Brian Vaillancourt of Leesburg, FL, her grandchildren, Katherine Bennett and her husband Christopher of Ellicott City, MD, John Vaillancourt of Nashville, TN, Ann Marie Wessells and her husband Cody of Lebanon, NH, Ben Vaillancourt and his wife Jacqueline of Beverly and Ally Vaillancourt of Atlanta, GA, her great-grandchildren, Henry and Charlotte Bennett and Stella and Maximus Wessells, her siblings, Paula Geist, Joanne Bogiages, Diane McGrane, Mary Dion and Ken McGrane and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass which will be held at St. Richard’s Church, Forest St., Danvers on Friday, November 15th at 10 A.M. Please meet directly at church. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers on Thursday, November 14th from 4 to 7 P.M.
