It is with profound sorrow and loss that we announce the passing of Della M. Larsen (née Mannion) on January 1, 2025. At 59, the passionate and charismatic Della departed this life at her home in Canton, surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Galway, Ireland, Della’s family moved to Framingham, where she was raised and educated. Della graduated from Boston College and later Leslie College, where she earned her master’s in education, a testament to her dedication and intelligence.

Della’s life was a tapestry of devotion and service, woven through her many years as a Special Education and Kindergarten teacher with the Boston Public Schools. Her innate ability to understand and nurture young minds was a gift she shared generously, touching countless lives with her kindness. Beyond the classroom, Della’s entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she helmed her own company, providing essential resources for fellow educators, further solidifying her commitment to the world of teaching.

Family was the cornerstone of Della’s life. She was the beloved wife of Ronald J. Larsen, a partnership defined by mutual respect and unwavering support. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Michael, Matthew, and Katherine, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life. Della is also survived by her brothers Paul Mannion, with his wife Linda, & Sean Mannion, with his wife Debbie. Della’s close-knit family circle was defined by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews with whom she spent much time.

Those who knew Della would agree that the words loving, kind, and intelligent only begin to describe the remarkable woman she was. Her life inspired and uplifted all those she interacted with. Della’s legacy is not merely in the lives she touched, but in the love she gave, the wisdom she imparted, and the joy she spread.

As we bid farewell to Della M. Larsen, we do so with hearts heavy with grief but also with gratitude for the time we were granted with such an extraordinary soul. Her memory will continue to guide and comfort us, as her spirit lives on in the many lives she has shaped. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the essence of who she was – a loving wife, a nurturing mother, a caring sister, and a true friend – will forever be etched in the history of family and friends.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton Wednesday morning at 10:00. Burial private.
