Dan Glovak, 72, transitioned to heaven on January 17, 2022 with his loving wife by his side from complications due to ALS. He was born October 15, 1949 to parents Woodrow “Woody” & Sarah (Cymbalski) Glovak.
Beloved husband of Nancy. Loving father of Christin (Joshua) Williams, Jessica (Chris) Sellers, stepfather to Katie Bennett. Proud “Papa” of twelve grandchildren: Caleb, Abigail, Hannah, Lilly, Christian, Aubree, Alice, Mable, Mikayla, Jacob, Nathan, and Olivia. Dear brother of Darlene (Jim) Bandeff. Uncle to Wallace (Janet) Bandeff, Sarah Bandeff, and Millicent (Simba) Mwayi.
He taught design at Wayne State University and worked as an automotive engineer for over 50 years. He had a passion for simple pleasures: enjoying nature with family, lover of animals, and reading aloud. “Design, engineering, art, philosophy, economics, theater, and music all easily capture my attention.”
Dan was a man of integrity who loved the Lord and a seeker of the truth above all else. He was a devoted friend and mentor who inspired others. He was the inventor of “Skip-On Skipping Stones” which have brought joy to many. His legacy will be passed on to generations and respected for years to come.
