Christine Price Pechner of Cary, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 5th, 2026 at the age of 64, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 16, 1961, in Huntington, New York, Christine was the beloved daughter of Ronald E. Price and Winifred C. Price, both deceased. Christine was the second child born to Ron and Win, with four brothers. She graduated from Smithtown High School East, class of 1979 and continued her education at Suffolk County Community College (SCCC) in Selden, NY. She then attended the State University of New York (SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry) in Syracuse, NY, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture in 1985.

It was, however, in the Karate Club at SCCC during the fall of 1979 that Christine met Todd Pechner, who would later become her husband in 1986. Together they raised two wonderful daughters, Katie and Rachel, who have said that their mom was the only one they knew who achieved second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and worked as a landscape architect. Christine also changed careers at age 50 to become an Ophthalmic Medical Technician, training at Duke Eye Center in Durham, and retired in January 2024.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her adventurous spirit, and her beautiful smile. She had a passion for downhill snow skiing, the outdoors, house plants, and enjoying time with her girls, family and friends.

She is survived by husband Todd G. Pechner, daughters Katie Pechner and Rachel Pechner, and brothers Gregory Price, Glenn Price, Jeffery Price and Scott Price.

A service celebrating Christine’s life will be held at Endswell Funeral home, Hillsborough, NC on April 13, 2026 at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Compassionate Care ALS helping “ALS patients and caregivers”.
