East Falmouth – Cheryl Richardson Eder passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 after a dignified battle with ALS.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years Lanny Eder, their son Daniel Eder of Boston, daughter Carlye Synakowski, and son-in law Christopher Synakowski of Connecticut. Cheryl was born and raised in Worcester to the late John Richardson and Mary Richardson of Falmouth. She leaves behind her siblings Mary Jo Ball, Kim Cullen, and John Richardson along with their spouses, many nieces, and nephews. Cheryl will be missed by many friends including Don and Marcy Hoban, friends turned into family, celebrating holidays, winter solstice, and the love of the Red Sox.

Cheryl relished a successful career as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor receiving a Masters Degree and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies as a Nationally Certified Licensed Professional Counselor. She met the love of her life sharing their passion for helping others employed at McLean Hospital and went onto a 25 year career as a psychiatric claims consultant at Unum Insurance and as an emergency services clinician at Saint Vincent hospital.

Cheryl and Lanny raised their children in Northborough Massachusetts, spending summers at Old Silver Beach and eventually planting roots in Falmouth the Spring of 2018. In recent years, Cheryl found incredible joy hiking and listening to live music with her husband, enjoying a glass of wine with friends and family, and reading every non-fiction book at the library.

A service will be held at Chapman Cole & Gleason, 584 Route 28A in West Falmouth, MA on Tuesday August 27th, 2019 at 11AM. Burial will follow immediately after at the Falmouth Jewish Congregation Cemetery at 7 Hatchville Road in East Falmouth, MA. Family and friends are welcome.
