Andrea Tarantino of Marshfield passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on September 20, 2024. She is survived by Frank, her devoted husband of 52 years; her three children Caryl, her partner Kevin, Marc and his wife Candice, Frankie and his partner Linda; and 7 loving grandchildren, Jack, Charlie, Lydia, Andrea, Jamison, Isabella, and Ford.

Andrea was born in Dorchester and raised in the Mattapan section of Boston, of which she was very proud. She had many lifelong friends from the neighborhood. Andrea’s story cannot be told without Frank. They met in the 4th grade and were married in 1972. The couple made their home in Marshfield, where Andrea enjoyed the beaches, the local YWCA, and later Marshfield’s senior center, where she had many friends. Andrea was an artist at heart and if you were lucky enough to get a card from her, you might notice it was an “Andrea original”. She earned a certificate of early education and loved working at Pudding Hill Preschool. She was fond of Maine and enjoyed many trips to her vacation home there.

Andrea was truly the personification of perseverance. She literally lived for her family. As one friend commented, “She had more comebacks than Tom Brady!” She faced every challenge with strength, dignity, and grace. She would often say “Put a little lipstick on, you’ll be fine!” She will be sadly missed by all who were lucky to have known her.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield. In lieu of flowers please donate to Compassionate Care ALS in Andrea’s memory.
