Jason Chorches has been working for CCALS for five years and as a volunteer at David’s Swim for well over a decade. If you have had equipment delivered or shipped to you, attended one of our many events or visited the Retreat, chances are you have met him. This year he is going to a different mountain to once again do something special.

Jason will be participating in 29029 Everesting at Mont Tremblant, Quebec Canada July 23 - 26, 2026. The event is simple (in theory), hike up the mountain, take the gondola down and repeat…15 times within 36 hours to reach 29029 vertical feet, the equivalent of Mount Everest. This is not a race, but an endurance challenge, something that challenges participants both mentally and physically.

When asked why he would want to do something like this again, Jason replies with ‘because I can’. Since his first completion of 29029 Everesting in 2024 in Stratton, VT, Jason has embraced the physical and mental challenges required in endurance events, participating in a number of other similar events since. Jason truly enjoys challenging himself, but more importantly he decided to do this to raise awareness and money to support Compassionate Care ALS, an organization that is dedicated to supporting people and families living with ALS. Your gift will ensure that CCALS can continue to support over 1,500 families.

16th Annual

David's Old Silver Swim

Saturday, August 8, 2026

Check-In 8:30-9:30 AM
Swim Begins 10:00 AM

Registration is now open!

David’s Old Silver Swim is an annual open ocean swim along the beautiful shoreline of Old Silver Beach, in North Falmouth, Cape Cod. Join us in the clear waters of Buzzards Bay for our 16th annual charity swim. Choose either a 2-loop, 1-mile swim or a 1-loop, 0.5-mile swim, both featuring chip timing technology for accurate race results. There is also a non-competitive and untimed 1-loop, 0.5-mile fun swim for anyone looking to test the waters in a relaxed setting, with the option to complete the full loop or simply swim out and back at their own pace.

This event honors the memory of David Garber, who passed away in October, 2023 after living with ALS for 14 years. His spirit, friendship, determination and love was an inspiration to countless people who got to know him, from near and far.

Compassionate Care ALS Founder and Executive Director, Ron Hoffman, shared a profound and enduring friendship with David. Throughout his ALS journey, David also cultivated an extraordinary and deeply meaningful relationship with the organization. CCALS is honored to continue David’s legacy through this remarkable event.
