Susan April (Miller) Murphy, 52 of Pembroke passed away peacefully on February 16, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with ALS.

Susan was predeceased by her husband Dennis James Murphy. Daughter of Arthur Miller and late Helen Miller of Falmouth, MA. Beloved mother of Christine Murphy of Pembroke, MA, Caitlin Murphy and her partner Kyle DuBreuil of Burlington, VT and Kelly Murphy of Pembroke, MA. She is survived by her siblings Fredrick Miller of Traveler’s Rest, SC, Carol Miller of Lowell, MA, Katherine Farren of Sudbury, MA and Mary O’Connor of Akron, OH. and predeceased by her brother Thomas Miller. She is also survived by her grandson Declan Murphy DuBreuil and many nieces and nephews.

Susan was a self starter and supported her family in a number of ways by proudly maintaining her own businesses that allowed her to stay home with her girls. Her positions as daycare provider, Discovery Toy salesperson and Girl Scout representative always displayed her remarkable love of children. Following the maturity of her daughters she also worked at Shaws Supermaket in Hanover. She was known for her avid love of reading and her positive spin on life.

Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Thecla Church, 145 Washington St., Rte 53 in No. Pembroke. Interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Pembroke.
