Obituary: Stephen Malieswski

WAYLAND: Stephen Malieswski, 49, died peacefully in the care and comfort of his family at his residence on Sunday, July 28, 2013 following a courageous battle with ALS.

He was born in Somerville on June 22, 1964 the son of the late John F. Malieswski, Sr. and Anna Schwarz of Wayland.

Besides his mother Anna, he is survived by his daughter Kimberly Ann Sa and her husband Mayckel Sa both of Holliston. He was the brother of Susan J. Quirk and her husband Daniel W. Quirk both of Dracut and John F. Malieswski, Jr. of Wayland. He was the uncle of John M. Malieswski of Wayland, Alyssa M. Quirk and Alexis E. Quirk both of Dracut. Also survived by his girlfriend Mary M. Brewer of Wayland and many friends.

Stephen has spent most of his life in Wayland and also resided in Maine for several years. He was a graduate of Wayland High School with the Class of 1983. While residing in Maine, he worked at Sugarloaf Mountain in Waterville. He was associated for many years as a custodian for the Town of Dover at the Dover-Sherborn High School and at the Chickering Elementary School before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating and riding his Harley-Davidson. Most of all, Stephen loved being outdoors with family and friends. He touched the lives of many people and always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. He will be fondly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Memorial Visitations will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 53 Cochituate Rd (Rte 27) Wayland.

Interment will follow in the Schwarz family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.

In lieu of flowers, his family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in his memory be sent to Compassionate Care ALS, POB 1052, West Falmouth, MA 0257.
