In his free time, he loved the Italian channel, watching funny movies, gardening, his heritage, and taking day trips. But his greatest love was spending time with his family.

Life Legacy
Rocco Di Censo, 64, died peacefully Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long and brave battle with ALS. He was the beloved husband and soul mate of 36 years of Maria (Carretta) Di Censo of Stoughton. Born, raised and educated in Sulmona, Abruzzi, Italy, he came to the United States in 1970 and settled in Dorchester. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1992. He worked as a Civil Engineer for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for many years and his influence is seen in many of the state’s roadways and bridges. Mr. Di Censo was a passionate fan of the Italian soccer team Juventus, and was a member of the Boston chapter of the Juventus fan club. He was also a devoted fan of Boston sports teams. In his free time, he loved the Italian channel, watching funny movies, gardening, his heritage, and taking day trips. But his greatest love was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children; Daniel Di Censo of Stoughton and his fiancee Maria Kasparian of Somerville, and Alessia Symynkywicz and her husband Noah of Easton. He was a very excited grandfather-to-be of Alessia and Noah’s baby boy, due in the fall. Mr. Di Censo was the son of Gilda (DeSantis) Di Censo of Quincy and the late Guerino Di Censo. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Luisa Carretta of Weymouth; his brothers-in-law Elio Carretta of Weymouth and Mauro Carretta and his wife Sandra Romero of Venezuela; his sisters-in-law Angela Carretta of Brockton and Miguelina de Ycaza and her husband Francisco of Panama; his nephews Carlos Carretta and his wife Paula Pellicer of Florida and Ricardo de Ycaza of Panama; his nieces Claudia Carretta of Venezuela and Ana Elena de Ycaza and her husband Aaron Romero of Panama; and many cousins, relatives, and friends.

Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
