Robert E. Martel, 72, of Tiverton, husband of Margaret (Sullivan) Martel and son of Rosalie (Canuel) Martel of Fall River and the late Oscar R. Red Martel, passed away, Sunday, July 19, 2015.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Captain Martel served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and was former safety director of the former Olin Corporation. Besides his wife of 40 years and mother, he leaves siblings, Richard A. Martel and his wife Linda of Fall River and Doris J. Copley of Dartmouth and nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, July 28, at 8:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Theresa Church, Tiverton, at 9:00 a.m. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Monday, July 27 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area and barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
