Obituary: Richard H. Stover

STOVER, Richard H. Of Sherborn, died January 20th from complications of ALS surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband for 57 years of Nancy (Carpenter) Stover and son of the late Florence Haines Stover and Wilbur J. Stover. Born and raised in Newton, he graduated from Newton High School in 1954. Richard honorably served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 – 1958 and graduated from Boston University in 1961. His career was in the electrical industry and he was a partner in Frank Associates until his retirement. Richard loved his family and cherished time spent with them. He had a lifelong passion for aviation, was a private pilot, and restored and flew a vintage Taylorcraft airplane. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and especially enjoyed wearing his kilt and Scottish dress attire to Highland Games, Tartan Balls, and Burns Dinners.

He is survived by his devoted daughters, Meredith Stover of Wellesley and Alyson Lamson and her husband Robert of Medway, his brother Edward of Newton and his grandson Matthew Stover Lamson of Medway. He was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter Madeline Lamson of Medway. Also survived by many cherished family and friends. He will be missed but not forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish, 35 South Main St. Sherborn. Burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
