Whitinsville – Nancy Elizabeth (Giemza) Sampson, 62, of Whitinsville, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 in her home. She was the wife of Leonard J. Sampson.

Nancy was born on December 30, 1950 in Whitinsville. She was the daughter of the late Thadeus J. and Elizabeth L. (Dorsey) Giemza. Nancy attended Northbridge High School and graduated in 1969.

This past September, Nancy and her husband Leonard celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.

Along with her husband Leonard, Nancy is survived by her daughters, Heidi Elizabeth Sampson of Somerville, and Emily Elizabeth Colonna and her husband Anthony J. Colonna of Hudson; two grandsons, Sampson James Colonna and Joseph Thadeus Colonna of Hudson. She also leaves her sister Gretchen Elizabeth Steere and her husband Donald of Rutland, VT; four brothers, John T. Giemza of Whitinsville, Christopher C. Giemza of Farmington, ME, Thomas L. Giemza of South Hadley, and Gregory P. Giemza and his wife Brandy of Northbridge. She also had several beloved nieces and nephews, a mother-in-law, Lillian Sampson, and sister-in-law Donna M. McKinney.

Nancy enjoyed travel, visiting Ireland and Italy with family and friends, but her true passion was her family. Nancy was loved by many and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church Street, Whitinsville.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 12 Noon in the funeral home.
