Obituary: Manny Glin

Published in the Bergen Record, January 2016

A celebration of Manny’s life will be held at the Maynard Rod and Gun Club, 45 Old Mill Rd, Maynard, MA on January 31, from 1-4pm. Please bring your favorite pictures or Manny moments to share with others but most importantly to share with his sons.

Manny Glin, 59, of Sudbury, MA passed away at home on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, surrounded by his wife, Natalie (Haight) and sons, Dylan (12) and Walker (10) and dog, Aspen, after a courageous battle with ALS. Manny grew up in Fair Lawn, NJ, graduated Fair Lawn HS in 1974 and later from The College of NJ. He attended AS Broadcasting school in NYC, and boasted over 25 years of broadcast and voice-over experience. He started his career with WDHA (The Rock of NJ!) then moved to Boston’s The River and WZLX before creating his own studio. Two of Manny’s notable broadcasting accomplishments were being the national voice for World Gym and three time National Association of Broadcasting Public Service Announcement (PSA) of The Year recipient. The PSA “Feeding America” currently airs in the greater Boston market and features the voices from his sons’ Cub Scout dens.

Manny was pre-deceased by both parents, Morris (a Holocaust Survivor) and Betty Glin of Fair Lawn, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.CCALS.org, a special organization that made Manny’s journey more comfortable for him and his family.
