WESTFORD, MA — Kathleen Ann Austin, 67, of Westford, MA, died peacefully on December 22nd, at Lowell General Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Kathy was a graduate of Chelmsford High School in 1962, and retired from a career as an Administrative Assistant three years ago.

Kathy was the daughter of the late Thomas and Edith Craig, and loving wife to Charles “Chuck” Austin for the last 33 years.

She will forever be remembered by her beloved daughter, Leah and husband, Chris Walsh; treasured grandson, Connor Bajc; devoted sister, Pat Dearborn, and caring nephews, Royal Richardson, David Dearborn and Mark Dearborn; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to have known her.

Kathy loved outdoor activities, walking on the beach, and spending time with her grandson. She spent countless hours offering advice, encouragement, and support to the people she loved. Her selflessness and eternally positive attitude was an inspiration to all until the very end.

Kathy is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Bonnie Tegen and Alison Legere. She was a wonderful aunt to the late Rick Dearborn, and sister to the late Eileen Richardson, and Thomas Owens.

AUSTIN — Kathleen A., of Westford, Massachusetts, died December 22, 2011. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Wednesday at 8 am from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Chelmsford.
