Obituary: John C. Landsiedel

John Cuyler Landsiedel, 71, of Mashpee,wa MA, formerly of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully at home on September 11th, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Debra for 16 years.

John bravely fought ALS and lived each day with courage, humor and grace. This strength was supported by friends and family, near and far. Especially his friend and aid, Jean Cadet.

John grew up in Rye Neck, NY. He then proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. as a reservist during the Vietnam era, then went on to graduate from Pace University. He owned and operated John C. Landsiedel Construction Co. in Stamford, CT for more than 35 years before passing the business along to his nephew, John Landsiedel. More recently, John became an honorary member of the Wampanoag tribe of Mashpee.

John enjoyed investing in the stock market, boating, and spending time at the beach, especially with his family. He freely shared his positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit with friends and family, young and old.

In addition to his loving wife Debra, he is survived by 3 children and 6 adored grandchildren. Lisa Pinney-Keusch, and her children, Reece, Gabrielle, and Jordan of Westport, CT, Alex Nugent and his wife Erin of Patterson, NY, and Ashley Kjellberg, her husband Olaf and their children, Axel, Petra and Mia of Stamford, CT. He is also survived by his sister Betty Gagnon and her husband Gerry,, his cousin Steve Cuyler and his wife Joanne, as well as his beloved dog Lacey.

A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held in Stamford, CT in October. Date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of John to Compassionate Care of West Falmouth, MA, https://annadsa.wpengine.com.
